Network Engineer Intern – Remote Internship

About the Role

Are you passionate about networking, security, and infrastructure management? We are looking for a Network Engineer Intern to assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure. This internship provides hands-on experience with network configurations, troubleshooting, security protocols, and cloud networking.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in configuring and managing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Monitor network performance, security, and connectivity issues
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and cloud networking issues
• Work with VPNs, firewalls, and access control policies
• Assist in network automation using Python, Ansible, or Terraform
• Research and apply best practices for network security and compliance
• Document network configurations and maintain network diagrams

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and firewalls)
• Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or other networking hardware and software
• Understanding of network security principles and protocols (SSL, IPSec, DNS, VPNs)
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Skills (Not Required but a Plus)

• Hands-on experience with Cisco Packet Tracer, GNS3, or network simulation tools
• Knowledge of network automation using Python or Ansible
• Experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Certifications like CCNA, Network+, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus
